Ongoing projects

This page will provide current information about upcoming AutSpect Education

products and events.

In 2010-2011 we have mainly focused on writing new material that touches on severe

communication impairments and the method of “facilitated communication” or

“supported typing”. We have started using this material in educating Finnish professionals

and parents about the problematic aspects such methods, and we continue to develop

the material based on feedback from professionals who encounter the method in their work.

We plan to publish a version of this material in English in 2012.

We have recently translated a book on Asperger syndrome by Torbjörn Andersson

from Swedish to Finnish, and arranged a series of lectures where Torbjörn will tell

Finnish audiences about his life, books and work as an educator and employer of other

adults on the spectrum in his own business.

We have also finished translating the book Women from Another Planet?, edited by

Jean Kearns Miller. Distribution will start in August or September 2011.
